- Great but has some very minor blemishesThe title says it all, personally don’t care as I’m bound to ruin it myself anyway. Buuut it does have minor blemishes and imperfections. I’m sure I could get it replaced but it isn’t worth the time. It was a gift from my brother/wife so I don’t want to ask them to deal with warranty etc. just kinda sucks to hear the hype of Daniel Defense and get something less than optimal. My Aero was a blem and I couldn’t even find it… so that gives you an idea.

- Awesome Upper for an SBRI have had my MK18 upper for 6 years now. I will just say it up front, you get what you pay for. I absolutely love the design of the RIS II rail and the overall quality of the upper. The one thing I didn't realize was how heavy an SBR can be after you add all your stuff to it. I am running an AAC 5.56 suppressor, a Surefire Scout Pro, and an Acog (8.7lbs without magazine). I was running a Trijicon MRO but switched to the Acog. I know an Acog isn't meant for an SBR but with how my eyes are these days, it works great for me and I feel I am more effective at longer ranges with my MK18. I have been working on cutting weight on my SBR wherever I can. After changing out some of the parts with some light weight options, I am down to 8.3lbs with the suppressor, light, and Acog installed. I think I am going to look at a titanium BCG next. For those looking at getting a MK18/SBR, make sure you really pay attention to the gas system and parts you use for it. These things are a lot different than a 14.5 or 16inch AR. Also, when you go with an SBR and a suppressor, you will really see how hot your gun will get after a short time of use and also how much carbon your gun will build up. All in all, I love my MK18 and have had a lot of fun shooting it.
