The DD5 V4, chambered in either 6.5 Creedmoor or 7.62x51mm NATO, provides users of the Daniel Defense semi-automatic platform even greater long-range precision shooting capability. The highly popular 6.5 Creedmoor takes advantage of superior ballistic coefficients to offer both flatter trajectories and reduced wind drift at levels normally reserved for much heavier recoiling long action calibers. These gains in ballistic efficiency help the modern shooter stretch the effective range out to 1,000 meters or more. This highly accurate and durable rifle includes an adjustable gas block that allows for a consistent feel whether shooting suppressed or unsuppressed. The perfected bolt carrier group reduces overall recoil impulse and is easy to maintain and operate in all conditions.
- User-adjustable gas block for reliable suppressed shooting
- Superfinished and DLC-coated bolt carrier group makes it easy to clean and operate in all conditions
- Bolt carrier is equipped with a buffer for optimized cycling and improved recoil impulse
- Bolt is designed with enhanced extractor geometry and dual ejectors for reliable cycling
- 18" Cold Hammer Forged proprietary steel chrome-lined barrel for a lifetime of accuracy and durability
- Innovative 4-Bolt Connection System to ensure greater accuracy
- GRIP-N-RIP independently ambi charging handle with anti-gas features for a better shooting experience

- Great rifle, needs better triggerTook mine out to shoot for the first time today. Consistently shot 1 1/2” groups with a variety of GI, and quality factory ammo. I had a cheesy 6x 2nd focal plane AR scope on it just for expediency because I wanted to shoot it and haven’t purchased the long distance scope I want yet. I was very pleased with the rifle, and know once I put a quality optic on top, and find the right factory or work up the right hand load, it will shoot much better. I didn’t realize how bad the trigger was: heavy and mushy. I checked afterward with a scale and it came in consistently at 8 lbs. Pretty sad for a $3000 rifle. That’s the one thing Daniel Defense can do better with this platform. A quality trigger will also help with the accuracy I’m sure. Fortunately, I have a spare Geissele laying around that I plan to install before my next range trip. As I said above, I plan to put a quality optic on this, as well as a suppressor. Once that is done, I may get on here and give an update. I am very happy with the rile…just not the trigger.

- Fantastic rifle! This is my forth DD AR platform, for the price point you will not find a better more accurate out of the box rifle! I'm sure I'll buy more in the future. Great rifle!

- quality firearmI have the DD5 v4 in 6.5 cr...the weapon is probably the best quality in an AR platform that I have ever purchased. My only negative comment would be the milspec trigger...it would be better to ship without a trigger or only offer a custom drop in for original sale...the milspec is insulting...

- 1,000 rounds with the same zeroStill shooting the same zero. Sub minute groups with a combat reticle. Ridiculous accurate and reliable.

- My FavoriteI have been using these for hunting and a little range work so I went with the 7.62 because I'm old school and I'm most familiar with it. I like the OEM rubberized stock and grips - a big upgrade from your average Mil-Spec hardware. I did change the trigger, replacing the MIL-Spec trigger and went with a Giessele SSA and that made a big difference. I am running a suppressor so the adjustable gas block was nice to have already installed. My first time out the weapon was extremely accurate shooting sub MOA at 100 yards. I wasn't surprised, Daniel Defense is known for quality and accuracy and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase again. Yeah this is my second DD5 and this brown color with all the FDE accessories is now my favorite of all time.

- DD5 V4 308 is wonderful !!I've never posted before on any site.
I recently purchased the DD5 V4 308. I changed out the trigger with a Geiselle SD-C and put an adjustable Magpul stock on. This is the best rifle I've owned. To be honest I really wasn't looking at Daniel Defense AR10's. But for those of you on the fence, I would recommend this rifle. I also own a Christensen Arms 308 which is alot lighter, but it's a bolt action single shot hunting rifle. The DD5 V4 is also a hunting rifle but it's a multi capacity Semi-Automatic.Posted on
- Awesome FirearmFirst, the extra (thicker) recoil pad was torn in the box. I noticed it when I got the weapon home. I emailed DD and had a response within a few hours. They immediately sent me a new one. Kudos for customer service!
I shot the gun for the first time today. Very smooth shooting. I had no issues sighting in my scope using 147 grain target ammo. The rounds fed smoothly without issue. I had 1.5 MOA groups. I’m not the best shot and know I’m limiting the rifle. Hopefully my groupings will get better. I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase.Posted on
- DD5V4 Mil Specpicked up the Mil Spec and a Trijicon Credo 2.5X15X42mm scope. Love this gun in 308/7.62, shoots accurate with little recoil and built like a tank. Daniel Defense continues to offer high quality rifles at a fair price

- An absolute beast of a gunI am really glad I went with this gun when I was shopping around for AR10s. It's reliable and accurate. You really can't go wrong with this gun. I would only recommend upgrading the trigger but even the mil spec trigger is more than adequate. I ordered mine and waited around 5 months but it was so worth the wait. There's a reason why these guns go out of stock fast. They are amazing.
