The M4A1 RIII AR15 style firearm features a fully ambidextrous lower that allows both left- and right-handed shooters to operate the bolt catch, safety selector, and magazine release without having to move or remove their dominant hand from the rifle’s grip. Its GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle is ambidextrous as well. We’ve taken the RIS II picatinny quad rail used on our M4A1 original and replaced it with a 12.5 inch RIS III rail featuring M-LOK attachment for lighter weight. The M4A1 RIII is built around a 14.5 inch Cold Hammer Forged Government Profile barrel with a permanently attached Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor. This rifle also comes with the ergonomic Daniel Defense Buttstock and Pistol Grip.

- Outstanding Customer Service – Daniel Defense Stands Behind Their Products!I want to share my recent experience with Daniel Defense, because it truly shows why this company deserves its reputation.
A few weeks ago, I had a catastrophic failure with my brand-new DD4 M4A1 while using factory new ammunition from another manufacturer. It was a serious malfunction that damaged the rifle and could have shaken my trust in the platform.

- DD4 M4A1 RIII GWOT package Initial impressionFirst off this is a great package deal and price for this rifle. Very happy with the accessories (Vickers sling, QD sling mounts, front and rear sight posts, engraving) Other than those extras everything else is exactly the same as the DD4 RIII internally and functionally. Two reasons for 4 stars and not 5. First, the trigger is just milspec and fairly heavy, averaged 5-6 lbs but as heavy as 8.11. However, the trigger does feel like a nice milspec one, crisp with no wall and very little creep. My Ruger MPR came with a 2.5lb trigger and at less than half the price so I think I just had higher expectations. Second reason is the case, it's a decent case but not a high quality one, but the main issue is that if you install an average MSR scope it doesn't fit, or at least without forcing it, but the case is a minor consideration being nit-picky. Still overall excellent quality and feel, and I'm sure the trigger will be extremely reliable and durable, but I think I will end up having to upgrade that to something a little lighter. An adjustable trigger or lower pull weight double stage would be a 5/5 review.

- Solid piece of technical engineeringIt is hard to deflect the interminable and addictive fealty that develops after you own a DD product; which is the reason the first DDM4 V7 I bought rapidly led to an M4 A1 RIII purchase. I am a novice in the field of AR-15 specifics but it does become clear that this has a more expedient feel to it than the V7 simply as a matter of comparison. The build has a trenchant affect to it while at the same time, it whispers dignified luxury. Pairs well with the Holosun combo red dot-3x magnifier. Congratulations again to the team at DD!

- GWOT - Beautiful!I received my M4A1 RIII Global War on Terror (GWOT) edition yesterday. As a testament to the continued focus on quality, the fit and finish of this firearm met all of my expectations. Just wanted to say thank you to Daniel Defense for such a quality firearm that commemorates so many who served (and many lost) in the GWOT at so many levels in foreign and domestic locations. Admittedly, this selection is destined to be my retirement firearm that will never be fired. It will spark conversations and more importantly, give me a tangible piece of my personal history that represents my 30 years of service.
