The DD4™ RIII™S AR15 style Upper Receiver Group is built around a 11.5 inch Cold Hammer Forged Government Profile barrel with a Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor, a GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle, and our carbine length gas system. It features a 10.5 inch lightweight RIS III rail—modeled after the revolutionary RIS II two-piece handguard developed for SOCOM— which features M-LOK attachment for lighter weight. All Daniel Defense complete upper receiver groups come standard with an M16 profile bolt carrier group.

- Great UpperBought from an online retailer (Brownell's?) last year when first introduced. Glad it's short as the two-piece design adds weight which is both good and not so good. Good because it helps mitigate felt recoil and helps with keeping the muzzle climb easily manageable running my 5.56/62 gr bullets. Bad (barely) as the heavier weight relative to its length slows down transitions (by maybe 0.1 seconds) in CQC/tactical scenarios. On the other hand, the nod to SOCOM's original concept means I can always add a grenade launcher should uninvited guests need extra motivation for departing the premises.

- Best rifle I have EVER owned.I bought the DD4 AR 15. I have a 3.5 inch group at 300 yards. I also have an 1.5” group at 100 yards I think don’t think that’s bad at all. 10 rounds each
